the storms are brewing

my internet connection has been down for the last two days and every time it happens i realize how addicted i am to my computer. that being said, you might understand why i will have so many posts for today...

the most notable activity in the last few days has been the weather systems moving around toronto. it went up to 19 degrees yesterday which apparently has never happened before in the recorded history of weather. it went from -2, poured a lot of rain and made a lot of thunder and then went up to 19. today its -7. does that make any sense to you? call me naive or uninformed but isn't this the effects of global warming?

even if it is some weather cycle that us humans cannot really understand because our idea of time is only really a fragment of what time is to the planet, isn't that still something to be nervous about? maybe something we should rather not prevoke into being a bigger problem?

maybe it was really only the cowboy boots and acid washed jean jackets that i had to deal with yesterday at school...i just wasn't expecting to see them again so soon.

as for global warming, i don't think there are too many people worried over it's onset. as a matter of fact, according to scientific projections, canada will be the best place to live when global warming hits hard. peter calamai, science reporter for the toronto star doesn't seem concerned. click to read his article about how global warming means cashing in on tourism in canada. "when you have average temperatures that are one degree warmer than usual, spending goes up by 4 to 5 per cent," says dan scott, a university of waterloo geographer. and die-hards will be happy to know that, yes you will be able to golf in the middle of february.

what am i going to tell the polar bears?
